Those supporting the Tea Party Movement will be sad to hear that Paul Ryan will not run in 2016 for President of the United States. While not a Tea Party member, he has long expressed their support for “individual rights, distrust of big government and an allegorical embrace of the Founding Fathers.”
As Romney has all but officially declared that he will run for president, this should come as no surprise. Back in September, in an interview with Huffington Post, Ryan stated, “I wouldn’t if he were. I would support Mitt. If he were to run, I would not.”
Paul Ryan believes that his current position, in the House, is more important to America’s future than his ambition to run for president. “Our work at the House Ways and Means Committee over the next few years will be crucial to moving America forward, and my job as chairman deserves undivided attention.”
